What are the Osprey Saver Rates?
Cheaper rates for charging at quieter times, in the Osprey app. There are two, and they are a permanent part of our pricing rather than a promotion.
Overnight Saver, 69p per kWh. Every night, 8pm to 7am.
Weekend Saver, 79p per kWh. Saturday and Sunday, 7am to 8pm.
Both are automatic. If you charge in the app, or with Osprey Go, you get them without doing anything.
When is the Overnight Saver Rate available?
Every night of the week, from 8pm to 7am. Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights included.
When is the Weekend Saver Rate available?
Saturday and Sunday, from 7am to 8pm.
From 8pm on Saturday and Sunday you move onto the Overnight Saver at 69p, which is even cheaper still.
Which rate do I get if both could apply?
Always the cheaper one. You never have to work it out, and you can never end up on the worse of two rates you qualify for.
How do I get a Saver Rate?
Charge through the Osprey app, or with Osprey Go, at the right time of day. That is it. The rate is applied to your account automatically, with no codes, vouchers or extra steps.
Can I get the discount without using the Osprey app?
No. The Saver Rates are only available when you pay through the Osprey app or with Osprey Go.
Do I need to do anything to activate the rate?
Nope! Nothing to switch on and nothing to opt into. Start your charge in the app during a Saver window and the lower rate is already applied.
Do I need to start my charge inside the Saver window?
Yes. The rate is set by the time your session starts, so start it inside the window to get the Saver Rate.
If you are arriving just before a window opens, it is worth waiting a few minutes. Plug in at 7:55pm and you pay the standard rate for the whole session. Plug in at 8:05pm and you pay the Overnight Saver for the whole session.
Does Osprey Go get the Saver Rates?
Yes, every time. Osprey Go pays through your Osprey app account, so it gets exactly the same rates you would get by starting the charge yourself.
It is the easiest way to use them. Plug in at half nine at night and your car starts its own charge at 69p per kWh, without you opening your phone or thinking about the time.
Where can I see the discounted rate?
Open the Osprey app and tap any location pin. The rate that applies right now is shown there, so if it is 9pm on a Thursday you will see 69p per kWh.
Are the rates the same everywhere on the network?
Almost. A small number of locations might have a promotional rate. Where that is the case, the rate is shown in the app before you plug in.
Wherever you are, paying with the app or with Osprey Go always gets you the cheapest Osprey rate available at that charger. Using the app never costs you more than tapping a bank card!
