Not all workspaces run on standard desks and Meeting Rooms. You may need to manage soundproof booths, podcast studios, or private lockers, and OfficeRnD Flex lets you create custom resource types for exactly that.
Once you’ve created a custom resource type, you can add those resources to your floor plans, make them bookable, or assign them to members just like any other resource.
Before you start
To create a custom resource, you must first create a custom resource type →

What is a custom resource?
A custom resource is a workspace asset that doesn’t fall under the standard resource types like desks, offices, or Meeting Rooms. It is based on a custom resource type you define in advance and can be used for bookings or assignments in the Admin Portal.
When and why to use custom resources?
You may want to use a custom resource when your space includes assets that don’t fit the default types. For example, if you rent out podcast studios or bike lockers, you can’t assign those under desks or Meeting Rooms.
By defining a custom resource type, you can manage these resources in the Space module and offer them to members as part of their membership or booking flow.
Admins often use custom resources to:
Create non-standard bookable assets such as parking spots, photo booths, or event spaces.
Track and assign shared-use resources like phone booths or standing desks.
Offer add-on items in bundles or chargeable packages.
Add custom "Zone" resources
If you open the Space module, you will see a separate tab for each resource type you have in your organization.
For example, if you created a “Photography Studios” type, a separate “Photography Studios” tab will appear in the Space module. You can open it and click Add to create the new resource.
Let's say you want to create parking spots to let members rent or include them in their subscriptions. To do that:
Go to
Settings > Resource Types and make sure you have created a resource type for parking spots.
Go to
Space > Parking Spot and click Add Parking Spot.
On the General tab, configure the resource settings.
Name – Enter a name for the resource.
Location – Select the location of the resource.
Floor – If applicable, select the floor where the resource is located.
Target – If applicable, select the target plan which automatically assigns the product to all members and companies who have a subscription to it.
Size – Define the number of people the resource can accommodate. You can also set the resource area.
Amenities – Select amenities available with the resource.

Open the Calendar tab and configure the following options:

Description – Set the description of the resource.
Image – Upload an image that you want to display as a preview of the resource. It will be used on the Member and Admin Portals. We recommend using images with a size of 2048x1536 pixels.
Color – Choose a color to differentiate the resource in the Member and Admin Portals.
Privacy – Configure the resource visibility to members:
Full Access / Public – Select this option to make the resource available to all members and non-members and make it visible on the public calendar.
Active Members – Select this option to make the resource available to only active members.
Limited – Select this option to make the resource available to selected members.
