OfficeRnD Flex allows you to offer discounts on Meeting Room bookings to members who belong to specific Billing Plans. For example, if a non-member pays $15/hour, you can apply a $5 discount for members, making it $10/hour. Discounts can be configured by rate type (hourly or daily) and assigned to Billing Plans so that they apply automatically at booking.
This article explains how to create Resource Rate Discounts and apply them to membership plans to reward your members with preferred pricing.
Before you start
Before you can add a Resource Rate discount for Meeting Rooms or bookable resources:
Create and apply a Resource Rate Discount
To create a new discount and apply it to all members on a specific plan:
Go to
Billing > Discounts.
Click Add Discount and select Resource Rate Discount.
In the Discount Code field, enter a unique name for the discount.
Select the rate type(s) this discount should apply to:
Hour
Day
Define the discount by entering:
A fixed Amount Off (for example, $5)
Or a Percent Off (for example, 20%)
Configure the privacy settings for the discount. You can select Available in the Public Calendar to make the discount code for usage in the Public Calendar if the booking policy does not include approval.
Apply the discount to a Billing Plan
To apply the Resource Rate discount to a Billing Plan:
Go to
Billing > Plans.
Select the Billing Plan that should offer the discount.
Open the Billing tab.
Click Rate Discounts and select the discount you created.
Click Update.
Members with the selected Billing Plan will now automatically receive the discount whenever they book a room or any bookable resource covered by the discounted Resource Rate.
Important notes about Resource Rate Discounts
Please note the following when creating and managing Resource Rate Discounts:
Discounts override coins:
If a member has a discount and coins, the system applies the discount first and then deducts coins based on the reduced price.
Hourly credits are deducted by time, not price:
1 credit = 1 hour, regardless of the hourly rate or discount.
Weekend discounts require matching rate types:
You must configure a weekend rate on the resource to offer discounted weekend rates. If only a standard hourly rate exists, the system will use that instead, even on weekends.
Discounts apply retrospectively to active memberships:
All memberships using that plan are updated once a discount is added or removed from a Billing Plan. Credits, however, do not apply retroactively.
Discounts take precedence over coins.
If you give someone a discount and they use coins, the discount will be deducted according to the discount.
When hourly credits are involved, the system deducts them hourly.
1 credit = 1 hour, regardless of the Resource Rate. To configure an hourly discount for the weekend, you must have an hour weekend rate configured on the Resource Rate. If not, the system will take the normal hourly rate configured on the Resource Rate.
