Resource Types in OfficeRnD Flex represent different services your coworking space provides, such as Meeting Rooms, Dedicated Desks, Hot Desks, and Private Offices. These types help you visually manage resources on floor plans and determine how they can be booked or assigned.
You can use Resource Types to manage your resources' booking mode and decide whether they can be booked hourly or daily.
Before you start
Default resource types
To review and configure Resource Types, go to
Settings > Space > Resource Types.
OfficeRnD Flex has six default Resource Types that you can customize to your needs:
Dedicated Desk
Hot Desk
Meeting Room
Office Desk
Private Office
Not Available
Default resource types can't be deleted.
You can configure the Resource Types to manage the booking mode of your resources and decide whether they can be booked hourly or daily. For example, if you change the booking mode of a Resource Type to "Time," all resources of this type will be booked only hourly; if you set it to "Date," all resources of this type will be booked only daily.
When a resource, such as a private office, is assigned to a membership or contract, the system marks it as "occupied," and it is no longer available for booking. This mechanism ensures that no double-bookings or conflicts can occur, maintaining accurate resource management.
Having a Resource Type be both bookable and assignable is not recommended, as it may cause booking conflicts and inaccurate reporting.
Custom resource types
OfficeRnD Flex has default Resource Types to meet the needs of most coworking spaces. However, you can also create custom Resource Types to include all your offerings. You can then add custom floor plan Space Types to represent these resources, making them easy to manage from your floor plan.
Here are some examples of custom Resource Types you can create:
Event space
Suite
Parking spot
Medical center
Create a new resource type
If your space offers various resources that are not represented by the default Resource Types in Flex, you should create custom Resource Types for them.
You can only create new Resource Types of the type "zone". If you want to create one of the type "desk", you must contact our support team.
