It is also possible to use the attachment page. In this case, you include the direct link to this page in your email.
Add the attachment to the Attachments page (Website Module, Pages).
Open this page on the desktop version and download the attachment.
The attachment opens in new tab with its own url.
You can use this url in your mail as a hyperlink.
