Sending emails

Checklist before sending an email

You can only send an email if your event has been activated. Read more here about activating your event.

You can send your email right away or schedule it for a later time.

Please note: if you schedule an email for later, the selected list is not dynamic. This means that any changes made to the list after scheduling will not be included automatically.

Before you start

First, check that:

  • your event has been activated.

  • your draft email is ready.

  • you are using the correct invitee list.

How to send an email

  1. Open your draft email using the pencil icon in the Mail Module.

  2. Click "Choose invitees from list".

  3. Filter by the correct target group, for example:

    • a specific list.

    • Registered.

    • No response.

  4. Check that the number of selected recipients is correct.

  5. Close the window.

  6. Click "Test and send".

  7. Choose "Go to send".

  8. Go through the checklist and tick off all items.

  9. Click "Yes, send".

Check your email using the checklist

Momice helps you do one final check of your email before sending it.

Make sure you check at least the following:

  • Is the number of recipients correct?

  • Have you chosen the correct subject line?

  • Is the sender name correct?

  • Have you checked the salutation?

  • Have you sent a test email?

  • Have you gone through the registration process?

  • Have you reviewed and adjusted the registration confirmation where needed?

You can always go back to change something or do an extra check before sending your email definitively.

Make your email as spam-proof as possible

With a few simple checks, you can increase the chance that your email will be delivered successfully.

Avoid special characters

Try not to use special characters in your subject line, such as:

  • ! @ * &

Also avoid special accented characters such as:

  • ü

  • î

  • é

  • ø

These characters can make your email more likely to be marked as spam.

Be careful with certain words

Spam filters often react strongly to words such as:

  • free

  • play

  • money

  • euro

Try to avoid these words where possible, especially in the subject line.

Test your email for spam sensitivity

You can test your email using Mail-Tester. Follow these steps:

  1. Send your email to the test address provided by Mail-Tester.

  2. Click the button to check your score.

  3. View your email’s spam score right away.

Tip: this allows you to see within a few minutes how spam-sensitive your email is and what you can still improve.
