Adjusting the image size with PowerPoint

Use PowerPoint files to customize your image.

Want to use an image in the right size for your event website or email? With PowerPoint, you can easily resize an image to the correct dimensions.

At the bottom of this article, you will find several PowerPoint templates. Each template already has the correct size for a specific use, such as a logo, header, or background image.

The process is the same for all files.

How it works

Step 1: Open the correct PowerPoint file

Choose the template that matches the type of image you want to create.

Step 2: Add your image

In PowerPoint, go to: Insert > Picture > Picture from File. Then select the image you want to use.

Step 3: Adjust the image size

Make the image larger or smaller by dragging one of the corners.

Make sure the white area is completely filled. Anything outside the white area will be automatically cropped when you save the image.

Step 4: Export the image as a PNG

Go to: File > Export > PNG file format. Then enter the correct dimensions.

Please note: PowerPoint may automatically keep the export settings from the last time you used it. Always check that the width and height are correct before saving.

Tip

Not sure which size you need? Always choose the template that matches where the image will be displayed, such as the email header, website header, or mobile background.
