The Community Chat - How it works

🌐 Connecting with Colleagues Effortlessly

Updated this week

The Community Chat allows all users to communicate with each other directly in the MobieTrain app. This guide covers everything you need to know about finding, creating, and managing chats.

πŸ—‚οΈ Where to Find the Chat

You can find the chat functionality in the Community section, which consists of both the newsfeed and chat. Clicking on the chat will display your chat history.

πŸ’‘ How to Create a Chat

Anyone can start a one-on-one chat.

  • Select a user by typing their name or picking them from the list.

  • If you cannot find a colleague, it means they have not registered as a MobieTrain user yet.

πŸ‘₯ Group Chats

Group chats are easily recognizable in the list as they display your company's logo as an icon.

  • Depending on your settings, anyone or only certain roles (e.g., Admins, Managers, Coaches) can create group chats.

  • When you create a group chat, you become the group chat administrator.

    • You can add or remove users, change the chat name, or even assign a new admin.

    • In some setups, only MobieTrain admins, managers, or coaches are allowed to create and modify group chats.

πŸ’‘ For changes to group chat settings, contact your Customer Success Manager.

πŸ’¬ Messages

What can you expect from the chat?

  • Real-time conversations, including a notification when someone is typing.

  • Timestamps for each message.

  • Emoji support to express yourself more freely.

  • File sharing for images and documents (e.g., PDF, CSV, Excel, Word, PPT).

    • 🚫 Executable files (.exe) and zip files are blocked for security reasons.

    • ⚠️ Be cautious when clicking on URLs shared in the chat.

🟒 Avatars & Online Presence

  • Your profile picture shows as your avatar in the chat.

  • A green dot on the avatar indicates that the user is online.
