Overview
QR codes are automatically created for every Location you add to the system. These QR codes can be used both to filter items in the mobile app and to add extra levels of verification to your Checklists. This article will show you how to get the system-generated QR codes, how to change them, and how to use them effectively.
Users must be Super Users or have the following roles to manage QR codes:
Locations: Modify
Checklists: Create or Modify
Exporting and changing QR codes
Mobaro allows you to both individually and bulk export QR codes for your account's locations. Additionally, you can easily change the system-generated QR codes.
How to get a Location's QR code
To find and save the QR code for a single Location, follow these steps:
Navigate to Locations
Search for the location you want the QR code for and select it
Click Edit
Scroll to the Scanner Code section
Click on the QR code to export it
How to change a Location's QR code
Navigate to Locations
Search for the location you want the QR code for and select it
Click Edit
Scroll to the Scanner Code section
Type in the Custom Scanner Code text box to change the code
Click on the QR code to export it
Warning: If you are using the system-generated QR code for any Scanner Code questions (Validation: Location) and have physical copies of the old QR code, you will need to replace these with the new QR code for validation to continue working.
How to bulk export QR codes
If you want to export multiple Locations' QR codes at once, follow these steps:
Navigate to Locations
Enable Multiselect
Select which Locations you want the QR codes for
Click the Export Scanner Codes button
Using QR codes as a Question type
The Scanner Question can be used as a means of requiring a user to scan any or a particular QR code to satisfy the condition of the question.
To set up a Scanner Question, follow these steps:
Navigate to Checklists
Select the Checklist you want to add this question to
Click Edit
On the page you want this new question, click Add an element
Click Scanner Question
Enter the Title and Explanatory Text as necessary
Select the Validation type
None: any scanned QR code will work
Location: the current QR code for the Location this checklist is being completed for must be scanned
Specific: the custom QR code you create fo this specific question must be scanned
Click Accept Changes
Click Save on the Checklist to make it go live
Using QR codes as filters
Not only can QR codes be used for validation and verification, but they can also be utilized to easily filter the Checklists, Assignments, and Location Overview tiles on the mobile app.
Checklist tile
To filter Checklists on the Checklist tile by Location using its QR code, follow these steps:
Navigate to the Checklists tile
Click the Filter button
Click the QR code button next to Locations:
Scan the applicable QR code
Assignments tile
To filter Assignments on the Assignments tile by Location using its QR code, follow these steps:
Navigate to the Assignments tile
Click the Filter button
Click the QR code button next to Locations:
Scan the applicable QR code
Location Overview tile
To filter Assignments on the Assignments tile by Location using its QR code, follow these steps:
Navigate to the Location Overview tile
Click the QR code button
Scan the applicable QR code
