Overview
Note Templates let you predefine Notes for fast, consistent logging on RideOps. A Template pre-fills a Note's Title, description, and Type, so an operator can log a common observation in a couple of taps instead of typing it out each time.
Users must be Super Users or have the following to create and manage Note Templates:
Organization: Administrate
Why this matters: The recurring Notes — guest spill, gate latch sticking, weather hold — are the ones worth templating. A Template makes them one tap to log, which means they actually get logged consistently, with the same Title and Type every time.
Create a Note Template
Open Note Templates
In the Mobaro Backend, go to Configuration and open the RideOps tab, then click + under Note Templates.
Fill in the Template
Title and description — the pre-filled text. Operators can still edit both when they use the Template.
Note Type — the Type the Template applies (see the note below).
(Optional) Locations — limit the Template to specific Locations.
Color — how the Template appears in RideOps.
Note: You need at least one Note Type before you can create a Template. See Setting up Note Types.
Note Templates in RideOps
Once saved, a Template is available on all RideOps-enabled Locations — unless you limited it to specific Locations. Operators can still create regular, non-template Notes; Templates simply give them a quick-select shortcut. When an operator picks a Template, they can adjust the Title, description, and Type before saving.
Operators can still create Notes that aren't based on a Template. | Selecting a Template pre-fills the Note; the operator can change the description and Type as needed. |
Best practice: Template the handful of Notes your operators log most often, with clear Titles and the right Type. That's where Templates save the most time and keep your Notes data consistent.
