Overview
A Select Question lets a User choose from predefined options. It can be Single Choice (one option) or Multiple Choice (several), and each option can carry points for scoring. Because the answers are fixed, this is the workhorse type for inspections — it scores cleanly, trends in reporting, and is one of the types that can fire triggers.
Users must be Super Users or have the following Role to add or edit Checklist questions:
Checklists: Modify or Create
Why this matters: Fixed options standardise answers, which is what makes everything downstream work — consistent scoring, comparable reporting, and triggers that fire on a specific answer. When you want a result you can act on automatically (raise an Assignment, require a photo), a Select question is almost always the right choice.
Configuration and setup
1. Add a Select Question
In the Mobaro Backend, go to Checklists, open the editor, click Add an element, and choose Select Question. Enter a Title and optional Explanatory Text.
2. Choose Single or Multiple Choice
Under Question Configuration, set the Type: Single Choice (one option selectable) or Multiple Choice (several selectable).
3. Add options and points
Click Add new option for each selectable choice, and assign Points to each option if you're scoring the question.
Example uses
Single Choice — "What is the operational status of the ride?" with options Operational, Needs attention, Out of service.
Multiple Choice — "What safety checks were completed?" with options Restraints checked, Lap bars locked, Emergency stop tested.

Best practices
Keep options clear and distinct so the right answer is obvious.
Limit the number of options where you can — fewer, well-chosen options are faster to answer.
Set Single vs. Multiple correctly to match the real decision.
Use logic and triggers on the answer to surface follow-up questions or raise tasks automatically.
