How to Recover Funds Sent from Unsupported Networks or Chains

MiniPay natively supports cUSD, USDC, and USDT on the Celo network.

If you manually sent funds directly to your MiniPay wallet address using an unsupported network (such as BNB Smart Chain, Tron, Polygon, or Arbitrum) or sent an unsupported token, they will not appear inside MiniPay.

Good News: Your funds are not lost. They remain safe at your wallet address on the original blockchain network.

🛠️ Step-by-Step Recovery Guide

To access and move your funds back, you can import your MiniPay wallet into an external multi-chain wallet (such as Trust Wallet or MetaMask).

Step 1: Verify Your Funds On-Chain

  1. Enter your MiniPay wallet address in the Search bar.

  2. Tap Multichain Info / Portfolio to verify that your funds are visible on the original network.

Step 2: Retrieve Your Secret Recovery Phrase

  1. Open the MiniPay app.

  2. Tap your Profile Icon -> About -> Secret Recovery Phrase.

  3. Carefully write down your phrase.

(⚠️Never share your recovery phrase with anyone or upload it online).

Step 3: Import Your Wallet into an External App

  1. Download a multi-chain wallet app like Trust Wallet, Valora, or MetaMask.

  2. Select the option to Import / Restore an Existing Wallet.

  3. Enter your MiniPay Secret Recovery Phrase.

Step 4: Access Your Tokens

  1. In the external wallet, select the network you originally used (e.g., BNB Smart Chain or Tron).

  2. If your token does not appear automatically, add it as a Custom Token using its contract address.

  3. Your full token balance will now be visible in the external wallet.

Step 5: Bridge or Swap to the Celo Network

  1. Use the external wallet’s Swap or Bridge feature (or a third-party bridge) to convert your tokens to cUSD, USDC, or USDT on the Celo network.

  2. Once swapped, transfer the Celo-based tokens back to your MiniPay wallet address.

  3. Reopen MiniPay—your funds will now be visible in your balance!

⚠️ Important Reminders

  • Future Deposits: Always ensure you send cUSD, USDC, or USDT on the Celo network for direct deposits to avoid extra recovery steps.

  • Security Notice: MiniPay Support will never ask for your Secret Recovery Phrase. Keep it private at all times.
