Mill Color - Q & A

Mill Color is built on the same construction and technology as our other heaters but stands out with a unique front panel that provides a different appearance, a lower surface temperature, and a paintable surface.

The front panel has low surface temperatures and is specifically designed to be painted.

The temperature varies depending on where on the panel it is measured. The highest temperatures are recorded near the top center of the panel.

The panel is made of calcium silicate. This is a heat-resistant material that can withstand high temperatures while helping to keep the surface from becoming unnecessarily hot. As a result, the panel can be painted without normally having to worry about the paint cracking.

Minor chips and surface imperfections can be repaired in the same way as a regular wall by filling, sanding, and repainting the surface. Acrylic-based wood filler has shown good results in our testing.

You can use standard water-based acrylic paint or regular interior wall paint.

We have tested Jotun LADY Pure Color, among others, with good results.

The front panel is supplied with two coats of matte white water-based acrylic paint already applied. Before painting, simply make sure the surface is clean and dry.

For the best finish, we recommend applying the paint with a paint roller.

No, it is not necessary to remove the front panel before painting.

If you also wish to paint the back of the panel, or if you want to avoid getting paint on the brackets, the front panel can easily be removed by taking out the four screws located in the corners. Follow the instructions provided in the product manual.
