Trips and Tickets app guide

1. Journey Planner and travel chains

The Journey Planner can be used to search for the best routes and services for your trip and to buy tickets for a single trip or travel chain. Search for routes and services in the app under Routes.

In the Journey Planner, set the starting point, From, and destination, Where To, the desired travel time and the number of passengers. In the From and Where To fields you can enter an address and the app will find the route via the nearest stop/travel centre. In the From and Where To fields you can also enter a city, a point of interest (e.g. Suomenlinna fortress) or search for a destination using the Choose on map function, where the app will search for the nearest stop based on the location. In the passenger data, you can increase the number of passengers, exclude modes of transport or add aids.

The app will search for the best routes and services based on the search criteria you set. The search results can show direct services or travel chains. A travel chain can combine different transport systems, such as long-distance and local transport, as well as different modes of transport. The search results show the services closest to the requested timetable and the most optimal route choices.

Please note that you can buy season and series tickets using the Season and series ticket button on the homepage.

2. Search results

The search results show alternative routes and services. Travel chains show departure and arrival times, duration of the journey, modes of transport and price.

Please note that departure and arrival times are measured relative to the given address and may include walking. The departure time is not necessarily the departure time of the service. The timetables are displayed in the Journey Planner once the desired route option has been selected.

3. Route plan

After you have selected a route or travel chain, you will see the Route plan page, detailing timetables, stops, operators, journey times and fares.

4. Choosing a ticket product

In the Journey Planner, you can choose the ticket products that will determine the final price of your trip. In local transport, the app can suggest the right ticket product, such as a zone ticket. In long-distance transport, you can change the ticket type or customer group, e.g. child, student, pensioner. The number of passengers can no longer be changed on this page. If you want to buy tickets for multiple passengers, perform the search for the desired number of passengers.

5. Payment

The total price of the trip is determined by the tickets selected on the Route plan page. In the case of a travel chain, the price is the sum of all the tickets for the whole trip. All tickets in the chain are purchased with a single payment. The payment method can be chosen before purchase. Ticket terms and conditions must be accepted before purchase. After purchase, the tickets are stored in the app. Ticket receipts can be emailed separately from the Order history page in the app.
