Creating a Collection

Creating a collection in Lumoa is fairly easy, and is one of the first things that you should do when starting a new account. If you have an existing account, or if you are unsure exactly of what a collection is, please quickly consult our guide on What is a Collection that should clear things up.

Once you understand what a collection, to get started, log into your Lumoa account and click on the Settings gear in the bottom left of any page, as seen below:

From there, you need to select the "Collections" tab up at the top. Normally this page houses all of your collections and lets you manage existing ones, but if you have not yet made any, this screen will be empty. To make a new one, you need to hover your mouse over the plus in the bottom right, and then click on the button marked "Create Collection":

Collection Settings

Before you can create a collection, you need to give it settings that will determine how it will behave, and what kind of data it will receive.

Collection Name: Anything that easily tells anyone within your organization what kind of data is stored there. Note that two collections cannot have the same name, but that names can be edited after creation at anytime.

Language: The language you want the Lumoa UI to use. English is the standard, but we also offer Finnish, Swedish, German, and more are being added all the time. Note that you can change language settings from the profile page on an individual level - you are just assigning the _default_ language in the collection settings.

Metric Type: This determines the type of data that will be uploaded to this collection. There are multiple options:

  • NPS is for scored data 0-10

  • Linear is for scored data OTHER than 0-10, such as 1-5.

  • Open Ended is for data without a score. Conversational data is considered open ended. If you aren't sure what conversational data is, we have a guide on Analyzing Voicecalls in Lumoa which should explain more.

Topic Model: The Topic Model determines what Topics will exist for your customers open text feedback to fall in to. If this is your first collection, leave the Topic Modeling blank, as we can create a Topic set off of data after its been uploaded. If you have other collections already made, you will be given the choice to use Topic Sets from those existing collections.
