Guide: Reservation Payment Links

Follow the steps below to create a Payment Link

Updated yesterday

1. Create a link when saving a Reservation

a) Go to the Box Office page, select your Event/Performance and follow the normal steps to add items to your basket

b) On the Customer page, add the following details - these will then save on the checkout page so the customer won't have to enter them again when they pay:

  • First Name

  • Last Name

  • Email Address

  • Phone Number - optional

  • Address - optional

c) On the Order Options page, select a Delivery Method if you'd like the customer to receive an email with a Reservation Payment Link

NOTE, it may be worth creating a separate Email Template/Delivery Method for this, with its own specific Email Sequence and/or Merge Tags.

d) On the Payment page, check Basket details. If you want to make any changes or add more items, click Back to Order Details or Add Products or Vouchers

e) Underneath your basket, click Save As Reservation

f) On the pop-up, set for when you want the Reservation to expire - select either Never or a specific time

g) Create a Payment Link - select Yes and then choose your Purchase Flow the customer will use to complete the transaction

NOTE - the Purchase Flow must be an Online Checkout Purchase Flow and must have a Default Channel added to it.

h) Want the customer to pay using a specific Purchase Channel other than the default for the Purchase Flow? Click Advanced Purchase Flow Options and select the Purchase Channel from the dropdown:

NOTE - this Channel must have access to the correct Event, Delivery Method and Payment Method.

i) Click Save Reservation and you will be taken to the Order page

j) Scroll down to the Payment Link section and you will then see the link you can send to your customer

2. Create Payment Link after Reservation has been saved

a) On the Order page, scroll down to the Payment Link section

b) Click Create Payment Link

c) On the pop-up, set for when you want the Reservation to expire - select either Never or a specific time

d) Select the Purchase Flow the customer will use to complete the transaction.

e) Want the customer to pay using a specific Purchase Channel other than the default for the Purchase Flow? Click Advanced Purchase Flow Options and select Purchase Channel from the dropdown

f) Click Save Payment Link and the URL will appear for you to copy or edit, along with the expiry date and time

3. Send Payment Link

There are three options for sending a Payment Link:

a) Copy Link and send directly - on the Order page, scroll down to the Payment Link section. You will then see the URL link you can send to your customer. Click the Copy Link button the right of the URL and you can paste this into an email directly to your customer

b) Automatically send in a Reservation Email/Delivery Method - create an Email Template/Delivery Method specifically for Reservations, with the relevant Merge Tags (see Key Terms & Tips above), and select this when creating your Reservation, on the Order Options page

This means your customer will automatically receive the email with the Payment Link, according to the Email Sequence attached to the Delivery Method

c) Send from Order page - use the Email Order button and select the correct Reservation Delivery Method and Email Template. This will manually send the email with the Payment Link to the customer
