How to attach files from Google Drive (OneDrive and SharePoint)

With the integration between Lexroom and your drives, you can attach files directly from Google Drive, OneDrive and SharePoint, without downloading them to your computer first. Here's how to set it up and use it.

What the integration is for

From the "Add file" button you can attach documents directly from Google Drive, OneDrive and SharePoint: files go straight from where you store them to where you work on them, with no intermediate download-and-reupload steps.

Before you can do this, an initial setup is required (done just once).

Step 1 — Set up the integration

  1. Go to the Integrations section of the platform

  2. Find the drive you want to connect (Google Drive, OneDrive or SharePoint) and click to set up the integration

  3. An authorisation screen from the provider will open (for Google Drive it's a Google screen): click Allow to authorise Lexroom to access your drive — this is the key step

  4. Once done, the integration will appear as active (shown in blue)

The procedure is identical for all three drives: what's shown in the video for Google Drive applies in the same way to OneDrive and SharePoint.

Note: from the same section you can also disconnect an already-connected drive at any time.

Step 2 — Attach a file from the drive

  1. Click the "Add file" button

  2. Choose the connected drive (e.g. Google Drive)

  3. A pop-up opens with the files available in your drive: select the one you want

  4. Click Confirm: the file is attached, with an indication that it comes from Google Drive

Limit of 20 files at a time

Even when you attach files from the drives, the limit of 20 files at a time applies. It's a deliberate technical limit: with more than 20 files at once, the quality of Lexroom's output would drop. If you have more documents, split them across several requests.

Still need help?

If the integration won't set up or the drive's files don't appear, write to us via chat and let us know:

  • Which drive you're trying to connect (Google Drive, OneDrive or SharePoint)

  • At which point in the procedure the problem occurs (a screenshot helps us a lot)
