How to install the Lexroom add-in for Word

The complete guide to installing the Lexroom add-in in Microsoft Word in less than 5 minutes, with a video tutorial and direct link.

Written by Caterina Tiziani

What you need before you start

  • Microsoft Word 365 or Office 365, up to date (standalone versions such as Office 2016 or 2019 may not support cloud add-ins)

  • Your active Lexroom account (you'll need the credentials the first time you access the add-in)

  • A stable internet connection

Step-by-step procedure

Method 1 — Via the Word marketplace (recommended)

  1. Open Microsoft Word.

  2. Go to Insert → Add-ins → Get Add-ins.

  3. In the search bar type Lexroom and press Enter.

  4. Click Add on the "Lexroom" add-in.

  5. Confirm the terms of use.

  6. The add-in will appear as a button in the Word toolbar.

Method 2 — Direct link (if you can't find Lexroom in the marketplace)

If, when searching for "Lexroom" in the Word marketplace, you don't see the add-in:

  1. Open your browser and go to word.cloud.microsoft

  2. Sign in with your Microsoft account

  3. Search for "Lexroom" and proceed with the installation

⚠️ If even this method doesn't work, your Lexroom subscription probably doesn't include the add-in yet. Contact your Account Manager to check.

First access to the add-in

Once installed, the first time you use it the add-in will ask for your email and password.

🔑 Important: use the credentials for your Lexroom account, NOT your Microsoft ones.

Is the add-in included in my subscription?
