Received your invitation to join a project but not sure how to proceed? We've got you covered! Follow our step-by-step guide below to get set up!
Step 1: Open your invite
Your admin should have sent you an invite to join the production map. Without this you'll be unable to sign up. If you have not received your invite, please contact your administrator. If you are unsure who this is, contact us via live chat or at support@advanced-infrastructure.co.uk.
Copy your temporary password from the email and click ‘Accept Invite’ to access your project URL.
Tip: If you are using Outlook, the URL may not load as expected. In that case, right click the 'Accept Invite' button, copy the address and paste it into your browser.
Bookmark the URL for easy access in future!
Step 2: Sign Up
Sign up using your email address and the temporary password shared in your invite email.
Step 3: Set your details and password
In this interface, enter your name and desired password, and enter details into the fields on the screen such as your organisation and role. Once you hit 'Continue', your password will be updated and for future logins the temporary password is not necessary.
Step 4: Set up Multi-Factor Authentication
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is a security measure we use to ensure only authorised users access the data in our platform. We have two options for users to verify themselves - SMS OTP (one-time passcode), or Authenticator App.
SMS OTP
Once you've set your name and password, the default interface is for SMS authentication setup. Simply select your country code and input your phone number and press the 'Send authentication code' button.
You will then receive a six-digit code via text message - input this into the sign up interface. You're all set! Every time you log in to the tool, you will be sent a unique six-digit code to authenticate the login.
Authenticator App
To use Authenticator App for verifying your logins, you first need to switch from the default SMS setting to Authenticator App. Hit 'Select' at the bottom of the sign-up interface.
Authenticator Apps work by using a QR code which a user scans, creating an account on the third-party application. Once the account is created, a six-digit code will be generated every minute. This is the code used to validate future sign in attempts.
There are many authenticator apps available for Android and iOS (Apple) mobile devices - we'd recommend using Google or Microsoft as they are established and secure apps:
Once you have an app downloaded, create a new account and scan the QR code to generate your six-digit code. Enter this in the sign up interface and select 'Continue'.
You're all set! Every time you log in to the tool, you will need to navigate back to your Authenticator app and enter the six-digit code.
