Register with Elster Online. Simply click on Benutzerkonto erstellen.
You can create your user account either by tax ID or email.
You will receive a confirmation with your access data and a certificate file. You must save the certificate file securely on your laptop.
Now log in to Elster Online using the password you have set and the certificate file.
Now you can fill in the steuerlichen Erfassung.
Tips for filling in the tax registration form:
Prepare your tax ID. You can find it, for example, on your tax assessment notice or, if you were once employed, on your pay slip.
You also need the bank details of your bank account and your private bank account.
Give the tax office a direct debit mandate. This way you won't miss any payments and you'll save on possible reminder fees.
