Many major courier services are forced to stop facilitating shipping identification/travel documents due to local laws preventing identity fraud. Fewer courier services will continue to facilitate this.
In order to prevent shipments being booked iLost has decided to deactivate the shipping option for identification/travel documents on the return page where owners can select how to get their item back. Some organizations permit shipping identity documents. During the return process, you'll quickly determine whether this shipping option is available.
Found property containing an ID card or passport
When you have found a wallet for instance, there's a possibility it contains an identification/travel document. For all items not specifically naming ID card, passport, etc the owner can still order a shipment. As an organization you can decide to send the found item with or without the identification/travel document.
Federal or local law could also apply on these documents so when you are uncertain always check the website of the government that issued the document how to handle.
