As part of creating your Huma account or resetting your Huma password, you will be sent an email from Huma. These emails will display a button you need to click on.
When creating your account you will see a button named 'Activate your account'
When resetting the password for your Huma account, you will see a button named 'create new password'
(Creating your account email) (Resetting your password email)
What should happen when you click on a button?
When you click on a button, your Android phone will ask you how to proceed next. You will see a pop up menu with some options on how to proceed i.e. do you want to open with Huma or or a web browser such as Samsung Internet or Google Chrome etc.
(Note, this pop-up menu will differ based on your Android phone)
On some Android phones, tapping on a button leads to the error message below:
This happens because the Android phone's web browser is set to be the default option to proceed with. Instead of asking you what to do next, the link just opens in your phones web browser hence the error message by Huma.
How to clear / change the default option?
To fix this, you need to change a setting on your Android phone i.e. disable the web browser as the default option. This process can vary from Android phone to Android phone and versions of Android. However, the process is fairly similar and follows the below steps:
On your Android phone, find and tap on the 'Settings' icon
Go to a section named 'Apps' or 'Apps & notifications'
(Note, this may differ based on your Android phone)You should see a long list of apps on your phone
(Note, you may have to tap on a button named 'see all apps' to see the full list)Find and tap on the web browser app that you use on your phone i.e. Samsung Internet (Purple icon), Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge etc.
Go to “Defaults” or a section named ''Advanced' (Note, you may have to tap on a button named 'see all apps' to see the full list)
Tap on 'open by default'
7. Then tap on 'CLEAR DEFAULTS' - this makes sure the browser is NOT the default option
8. You should now see 'no defaults set'.
With this now done, you should be able to click on buttons in Huma emails and be given the choice on what to do next i.e. open through the Huma app
