Introducing 'Patient Flags'. A new and improved way to view patient data on Huma

This help guide walks you through the new patient flagging functionality in the Huma clinician dashboard

The Current Way To View Patient Data

Until now, the Huma patient dashboard featured a 'pulsating green dot' to alert you that new information has been provided by a patient.

Introducing 'Patient Flags'

We are surfacing information previously housed in the 'green dot' onto the patient dashboard with ’Patient Flags'.

This improved Patient Flag system allows clinicians to be informed of multiple new readings submitted by patients and provide a summary of activity by a patient.

When you next open the Huma clinician dashboard you will see a new column titled 'FLAGS'.

‘Patient Flags’ are a visual summary of patient activity. These new coloured flags can either be PINK, AMBER or GREY and contain a number. Flags notify you of three things:

  1. New information has been submitted by a patient

  2. The number of readings per severity category

  3. A Huma patient review is required i.e. a review of patients data and submission of note

What does the GREY Patient Flag indicate?

Physiological parameter ranges are colour-coded, AMBER, PINK or BLUE and assist in efficient prioritisation of patients.

GREY is a new addition and is specific to FLAGS. A GREY flag can include the following:

  • BLUE RAG new data i.e. any symptom that is mild or vital that is within the preset threshold

  • Modules without a RAG i.e. photos, daily check in, journal etc.

Note, not all of the above may apply. This is dependent on your specific configuration of Huma.

The New Way To View Patient Data - Example

Step 1: Checking the the dashboard

  • Looking at the dashboard below, the display of flags indicates that new information has come through for four patients

  • Katherine has submitted eight pink, fifteen amber and sixteen grey readings

Step 2: Reviewing flagged readings

  • To view flag specific information, simply click on a 'flag'

  • You will be presented with a new popup window that allows you to review all submitted data and to submit a note

  • Here you can see up to five readings submitted by the patient with the option to click 'view all here' for further readings

Step 3: Resolving flags

  • Vitals that need reviewing and resolving will display in bold

  • You must click and review all PINK and AMBER vitals before being able to submit a note

Once you have submitted a note, you will see a pop up notification to let you know that you have resolved all flags associated with a patient, in this case with Katherine
