Step 1: Open the practitioner template page
Sign in to Hero here: https://herohealth.net/admins/sign-in
Once signed in navigate to Settings using the sidebar on the left-hand side of the screen. Once you have opened Settings select Your Business and click Practitioner.
Step 2: Add practitioner
Once the practitioner table has opened click Add practitioner at the top of the page.
This will open a window where you can search for an EMIS practitioner, when you have found the practitioner you wish to add select them and click save.
Step 2: Edit the practitioner details.
You will see that EMIS practitioner has not been added to the practitioner table, using the options menu on the right side of the page, click edit, this will open the practitioner template page.
Now start working your way through the page and filling in the necessary information.
Once you have completed all the steps click save in the top right of the page.
Step 2.1: Details
In this section enter the details as appropriate for the practitioner. The email address and mobile number will be used if you choose to set up alerts for this practitioner (see Step 2.4).
Tip 1: When creating a practitioner you have the option to either name them by their given name or an arbitrary name (for example: Mr John Smith or Mx Nurse Practitioner)
Tip 2: If you are an EMIS practice we recommend always setting Practitioner type as Healthcare Professional
Step 2.2: Qualifications, Biography, and Languages (Not applicable for NHS practices)
Here you can add any qualification languages or useful information that your patients may want to know.
Please note this is only visible if you have opted to be on the Hero Market Place.
Step 2.3: Locations
In this section, you can assign the locations where they will be available for appointments.
Note: If you are an EMIS practice their availability will be governed by slot types so select all locations.
Step 2.4: Alerts
Here you can choose if you would like to send alerts to the practitioner via the contact details in step 2.1 for new, rescheduled, or canceled appointments or send them links to video appointments.
Tip: If you expect the practitioner to be viewing the diary regularly we recommend not selecting any alerts.
Step 2.5: Default Availability
In this section, you can control which appointments will be available with this practitioner. To select appointments click Yes and choose which appointment you would like to make available.
Once you have selected the default availability click Update availability this will update any session already in the diary.
Note: If you are an EMIS practice their availability will be governed by slot types so click yes and select all.
