[Transact] - Capabilities: LEI Monitor

What is an LEI?

The Legal Entity Identifier (LEI) is a unique 20-character alphanumeric code used to identify legal entities participating in financial transactions worldwide.

It is managed by Global Legal Entity Identifier Foundation, a non-profit organization established by the Financial Stability Board in 2014. The LEI system promotes greater transparency and trust across global financial markets.

Why is this important?

By integrating the GLEIF API, our platform can retrieve high-quality, standardized legal entity reference data directly into VASP profiles, including:

  • Legal entity name

  • Registered address

  • Entity status (e.g., active or inactive)

Keeping this information accurate and up to date helps maintain trust across the network and enables counterparties to assess entities more effectively during due diligence.

Will I be notified if there are any issues?

We periodically monitor and sync entity data provided by GLEIF for organizations linked to an LEI. This ensures that your entity profile and how it appears across the network remain current.
If, during the latest synchronization, your entity’s status is reported as inactive, a banner will be displayed in your dashboard. At this time, email notifications are not yet available for this specific part, but we are considering adding them in the future.

What should I do?

  • If your entity is incorrectly marked as Lapsed or Inactive, navigate to My Entity → Capabilities and click “Update LEI”.

  • If the issue persists, please contact GLEIF as soon as possible to resolve the issue. We do not control or modify the data provided by GLEIF and cannot make corrections on your behalf.
