In the Camera Events section you will find some statuses at the top of the page, on the right side of the filter options. Here you will learn more about them.
What do they mean?
Camera events are categorized into 3 statuses, allowing you to choose if you want to view, save, or delete the video events detected by your cameras.
NEW - New events. These have not been saved or marked as deleted yet.
SAVED - Events that have been saved in your video storage.
DELETED - Still recoverable but will be permanently deleted after some days.
How it works
By default
🔴 New events will be available for you to either mark as 🔵 Saved or 🟣 Deleted.
If no action is taken, after 30 days, these will automatically switch to 🟣 Deleted.
🔵 Saved events are stored for 1 year.
Users can mark them as 🟣 Deleted at any time.
If the Extended storage is enabled, those events are kept for up to 3 years.
🟣 Deleted events are stored for an additional 5 days.
During this time, they can still be restored (saved again).
After 5 days, the events are permanently deleted.
Customized
In addition to the default retention periods, you can customize how long events are stored based on your needs or your company's policies.
You can choose:
How long 🔴New events remain available before they are automatically marked as 🟣 Deleted.
How long 🔵 Saved events are stored.
The duration of the Extended retention period.
How long 🟣 Deleted events can be recovered before they are permanently deleted.
These settings allow you to better align event retention with your operational or compliance requirements.
Other ways the status will change
If you create a Camera event alert and select 'Include sharing URL with alert notification,' all events generated will automatically be of the status 🔵 Saved.
If you create a shared link for a specific camera event, this event's status will automatically change from 🔴 New to 🔵 Saved.
If you request to download a video from Memory Card, after it's downloaded, it will also appear in the Camera Events section as an event with the status 🔵 Saved.
