How to create an account and register your test

This guide explains how to create your account and register your test using the Test-ID found on the code card included in your test kit.

⚠️ Important: Your test must be registered before you send your sample to the laboratory. Unregistered samples cannot be processed and will be discarded.

There are two ways to register your test:

Option 1 (Recommended): Scan the QR code on your code card

The fastest and easiest way to register your test is to scan the unique QR code printed on the code card included in your test kit.

When you scan the QR code, you'll be taken directly to the account creation and test registration page, where your Test-ID is automatically linked to the registration process.

Example:

Option 2: Register manually using your test-ID:

If you're unable to scan the QR code, you can register your test manually.

The manual registration steps are described below in this article.

We strongly recommend using the QR code whenever possible, as it reduces the risk of entering an incorrect Test-ID and makes the registration process faster.

Create an account

Step 2: Click on "Sign in with GetTested"

Step 3: Click on "Register here" and fill in your details, such as: name, email address, preferred language for communication, phone number, etc.

Register your test

Step 4: Click on the "register your test" button.

Step 5: Fill out the required information such as: Name, date of birth, weight, height, current health status and Test-ID. The Test-ID can be located on your included code card. This links your test kit sample to your account, ensuring that your data and results are processed accurately and attributed to the correct person. Additionally, ensure that the QR-code sticker provided in the test kit is securely attached to the sample tube.

The registration window shown above might look a bit different for some tests.

All unregistered tests are discarded at the lab, because there is no way of knowing who a test belongs to. This ensures privacy and quality control by linking the sample to the correct user. This step is critical because the purchaser of the test might not necessarily be the person taking it. Therefore, we instruct you to complete registration before even performing the test. Furthermore, proper labeling of the sample tube with the QR-code provided in the test kit is equally essential. Samples without accurate labeling are discarded, as they cannot be linked to any account. Registration and labeling are both non-refundable requirements to ensure sample processing.

After this, your test will be shown on your account, and you will receive a email that it has been registered🎉 Remember, for your sample to proceed through the lab, the QR-code sticker provided with your test kit must be attached to the sample tube.

What are my options if I forgot to register?

If you mistakenly sent an unregistered kit, you have the following options:

  1. Request a replacement kit: You can obtain a new kit for a small fee.

  2. Request a partial refund: Depending on the situation, you can opt for a refund minus the cost of the unregistered kit. Note that exact fees or refund conditions may vary.

How do I find the Test-ID

The correct Test-ID is printed on the small code card inside your test kit (the one that also holds the QR code).

This is what the code card looks like:

A Test‑ID will either start with SPOT or IAW, followed by a combination of random letters and numbers.

Format examples: SPOTX48RGT or IAW5000Q1D

Common issues

  • Not receiving password reset emails: This often happens when no account exists for the entered email address.

  • Unable to log in or remember your password: In this case, the "Sign up" option should be used to create a new account.

  • Unregistered or unlabeled samples: Be sure your test is registered online, and the QR-code sticker is securely attached to the sample tube before mailing.

  • Error Messages During Test-ID Registration: Carefully review the Test-ID and ensure its accuracy. Confirm that scanned QR code values match the printed label.

  • Missing or Unidentified Test-ID: Log into your account to check the dashboard for the Test-ID, or contact support if it's unavailable.

  • Cannot add phone number: If you are experiencing problems adding your phone number, make sure to add your country code like this: +44121234567890

First ask yourself, have I created an account to begin with? If you have no recollection of creating an account as instructed above, please go ahead and do so first.

To verify if you already have an account, attempt signing in with your frequently used email addresses. If unsuccessful and you do not recall creating an account, proceed to create a new one.

Forgotten password?

If you don't remember your password you can simply click on "forgot password?" to have an reset email sent to you. From there you can change the password and then login to your account.

If you're not receiving a password reset email, check your spam or junk mail folder. Ensure you entered the correct email address when attempting to reset your password.

If issues persist after following these steps, consider reaching out to GetTested and ask to speak with a human for further assistance.
