How to Search the Garden Guru

How to find articles, guides and videos about a specific topic

The Garden Guru includes thousands of articles, plant guides, and pest and disease guides to help you to grow your garden successfully.

There are 3 ways you can search for specific information in the Garden Guru:

Search for a video or article

Open the Garden Guru then click on the magnifying glass icon at the top left. (Click on Videos or Articles first if you only want to return these kinds of results.)

Type a word or phrase in the search bar.

The Garden Guru will find relevant videos and/or articles for you to browse.

Search for a plant's growing guide

The Garden Planner includes hundreds of plants, and you can search for their growing guides by clicking on Plants at the top of the Garden Guru.

You can scroll down to view all plants, or start typing the name of a specific plant in the search box.

Alternatively, you can use the filters to find plants that meet your needs. You can choose multiple filters to narrow down the results further.

To remove a filter, click on the green highlighted filter button to switch it off.

Search for information about pests and diseases

Search for pests, beneficial bugs and plant diseases by clicking the Pests option at the top of the Garden Guru.

Scroll down to view all pests, or if you know what you're looking for, type to search for a bug or disease by its name, or part of its name:

You can narrow down the results by choosing to view only Pests, Beneficial Insects or Diseases. Choose Pests or Diseases to see additional filters indicating which part of the plant is affected and where it is commonly found, or Beneficial Insects to choose from pollinators, pest predators, and composters.
