How to plan larger plants in your square foot garden

Updated over a week ago

Some plants are considered too large to grow in a single square foot of space, so they are added at their normal spacings. If you wish you can adjust the spacing for those plants in the following way:

Double-click on the plant in your plan, or click once on the plant to highlight it then click on the Edit Item button in your plan's toolbar.

(on a smartphone)...

Select your variety if necessary, then click on Customize Varieties.

Garden Planner customize varieties

Click Edit, then select the 'Use Custom Spacings' box. Enter the spacings you wish to use. (Use the spacing between plants for individual plants or blocks of plants, and spacing between plants in rows + spacing between rows for plants in rows.)

Please note the size of the plant icon itself cannot be reduced however.

Scroll down and click Save All Changes when you're done.
