Overview
The Connections section in Formalize brings all resource connections together in one unified place, making it easier to understand, configure, and customize relationships between resources.
You can manage existing connections and create new ones from a single, consistent view.
How to use connections
You are able to connect your resource to another resource by using the Connections section. The image below shows you the consolidated Connections section, in the detail page of a System.
Connect Items
To connect resources, select the desired resource, click the three-dot menu, and choose the item you would like to connect.
Use connections in numeric calculations
You can use connections in your formulas for numeric calculations.
For example, in Contracts you may have a numeric field where you record the contract amount. In Suppliers, you may want to display the total value of all contracts linked to that supplier. By using connections in a formula, you can automatically calculate the sum of the amounts of all related contracts for each supplier.
How to add a new connection
In order to add a new connection between two elements, you will have to proceed in 2 steps:
First, go to Settings and chose the Resource you wish to use
Scroll to the Connections section and create a new custom connection by clicking on the button "+ Create".
You will also be able to give the connection a customized name:
You can also delete a connection you just created, if you decide it is no longer necessary. From Settings, select your Resource and then scroll down to the Connections section. Then click on Edit connection, and here you can customize the connection and give it a new name if you want to. To remove this, press Delete at the bottom of this view.
