General: If you set up an exemption order with your bank, the bank will not pay any final withholding tax to the tax office. The prerequisite for this is that your investment income is within the exempt amount. Capital gains include dividends and profits from securities transactions.

It is not possible to retroactively set up an exemption order for the past calendar year and thus to receive a refund of the taxes paid in that year.
