In case of the death of the account owner, the heir must prove their right to inherit by sending us a copy of the inheritance and death certificates. Documents can usually be submitted as a copy, but may require verification on the basis of certified copies or original documents. For certain jurisdictions (including Germany), a certified paper copy of the inheritance certificate is generally required.
We accept documents only in supported languages (ENG, EST). Documents in any other language should be provided along with a certified translation into English.
Verification time for the documents in the Baltic states is up to 30 days and in other countries up to 60 days. However, in more complicated cases and for larger portfolios, this deadline can be extended to up to 90 days.
Estateguru has the right to thoroughly investigate any inheritance claim as required and may use an external third party, such as a law firm or notary, to verify the claim. The costs of said verification will be deducted from the assets prior to their transfer to the heir. The cost can vary per jurisdiction, but on average asset transfer of larger portfolios is subject to an average minimum cost deduction of 400-500 EUR.
