Service Order Settings can be configured at a System and at a Company level. Click the + icon to add a new service order setting.
Services associated with a Service Type can be configured to have service orders automatically created or created and sent using the Quick Workflow feature. The Service Order Settings screen allow configuration of how Service Orders behave based on their Service Types.

Key fields
Service Order Type: Select the Service Type that is to be configured.
Default Communication Method: Identifies the method that is automatically selected when the Service Order’s Note/Communication is created. Select from: Email, Verbal or Note, Data Feed
Email Template: Select one or more Email Templates Available for use by this Service Order Type by clicking the New button to add as many rows as necessary. Select one as the Default and that will load when an Email Service Order Communication is created, but you can switch to one of the other available Email Templates when creating your communication. The list displays active email templates defined on the Email Templates screen.
Show Estimate Fields – Displays fields used to track what the estimated cost of the service is going to be on the Service Order screen. Some processes require estimates for all service orders and then approve or disapprove the service order based upon the cost estimate.
Show Vendor Status – Displays the Vendor Status field on the Service Order and Service summary screens. When checked, the Vendor Status field displays read-only by default, but can be made read/write by using data dictionary metadata override. A history of vendors’ statuses is also tracked in the Service Order Vendor Status History table.
Show Budgeted/Actual Cost Fields – Displays the Budgeted Cost and Actual Cost fields on the Service Order screen.
Referral Information Defaults
Show Estimate/Expected Fields -The date that the expected amount should be received.
External User Type Access
Set by Service Order Type to determine if the vendors should be able to view their service orders online.
Service Order Ratings
Ratings are Required on service order completion - Once the service order is completed, the rating field becomes required.
