Certain fields in the Equus Platform are available for encryption and when a user does not have decryption rights to an encrypted field, (Encrypted) appears on screen instead of the field value.

In the example below, the Dependent's City of Birth field has been configured as an encrypted field. The user's security role does not have decryption rights for the field and will see (Encrypted) instead of the actual City of Birth.

The Field Privacy Rights section of the user's security role controls the visibility of fields that are encrypted. The Field Privacy Rights section is found on the security Role Maintenance screen on the Advanced Data Restrictions tab at the Configuration level.

For the user to see the Dependent's City of Birth on screen, tick the checkbox for the field and press [Save].

After saving the change, the Dependent's City of Birth will be decrypted.
