What is the Resource Change Batch?
It allows users to easily change the resource owner of an assigned Checklist Task to another resource. This is done using the Resource Change Batch screen.
What are the key benefits?
Use of one screen to quickly assign tasks from one resource to another resource. Supports scenarios where a resource has left the company, about to go on leave or needs to readjust their workload.
Assignment Security is honored. Users can only make edits to items within assignments that they have rights to.
Built-in validation. Tasks can only be re-assigned to resources that have the correct resource role.
What are the steps to using it?
Update the security role by granting at least "View" rights to the <Resource Change Batch> screen name. "Edit" rights allows users to edit the fields and "Execute" rights enables the
button.
Navigate to the Resource Change Batch screen using the Global Search. Use the type ahead drop down lists to select values for the Current Resource and New Resource fields. Finally, tick the Checklist Tasks checkbox and click on
.
The screen updates to display the Records to Process section. This will display the records that is included in the batch. Click on
to proceed.
A batch results summary grid displays reassigned records and any errors that prevented the resource change. A common error can occur when the selected new resource does not have an assigned role that the checklist task item required.
The Batch Results grid will display an Error message column. Click on the name of the Target Resource to view the details of the resource and the name of the Checklist Template to view the details about the Checklist Task. For details on how to resolve errors, click here.
