Users can choose to set a default Mobility Policy for a specific Mobility Type. When a default policy is set for a Mobility Type, users will not be prompted to populate the Mobility Policy of the Case Record being created in the Mobility Manager widget.

Setting the default policy for a Mobility Type can be done through the Mobility Type Policy Defaults tab, which is available at the Company level.

All existing Policy Defaults will be listed down under the Mobility Type Policy Defaults section. Each record will show the Mobility Type and the Mobility Policy which it will be defaulted to.

If there is a Mobility Type Policy Default for a specific Mobility Type, which in this scenario is STA Policy for the Business Trip Mobility Type, then the Relocation Policy field will not be visible when creating a new Case Record on the Mobility Manager widget.

Relocation Policy Field Not Visible

In case a Mobility Type Policy Default is not configured, the Relocation Policy dropdown field will be visible and required under the Move Info section when creating a new Case Record.

Things to Note

  • If a Mobility Policy is inactive, then that value will not be available on the dropdown of policies when trying to create a Mobility Type Policy Default.

  • If a Mobility Policy is inactivated, then that value will persist on a Mobility Type Policy Default created prior to the inactivation of that policy.

    • However, if the user edits the Mobility Type Policy Default, chooses a new policy, and saves it -- the inactivated policy won't show up as an option anymore.

  • Existing Case Records with a Mobility Policy that has been inactivated prior to the creation of those records will keep the value of that inactivated policy.

  • The Relocation Policy field will be visible on the modal for new Case Records that are under a Mobility Type Policy Default with an inactive Mobility Policy.

  • There are out off the box policies available for the following types:

    • Business Travel

    • Domestic Remote Work

    • International Remote Work
