Tax Position Sets can be migrated from the system level or company level and created at the system level or company level. All Tax Position Sets will be imported with the same status of the Tax Position Set in the source system. Note - You cannot create a migration package for an Equus standard Tax Position Set (ones that have been delivered by Equus and have an Equus System Code).
Errors that occur during migration will be listed in a red box at the top of the screen. If an item on a Tax Position Set errors during migration, that item will not be updated in the copied Tax Position Set and the user must manually update the item in the target system. The rest of the Tax Position Set (e.g. all items that do not error) will migrate successfully.
Copied Tax Positions Sets will appear in the user report titled Equus - Tax Position Sets Report. Tax Position Set items that have been updated by a user to a value other than the default will reflect the user’s information in the Last Update By column in the Equus - Tax Position Sets Report. The Migration Package only updates Tax Position set line items that vary from the visible, unlocked default ("**Value Not Set**"). If a line item of the Tax Position is not updated, there will be no user name in the report to indicate that the line item was the result of a migration.
Tax Estimator Compatibility
If a Tax Position Set is copied from a source system with fewer tax estimators than the target system, the records for the additional tax estimators present in the target system will not be updated and the line item will revert to a visible, unlocked default ("**Value Not Set**").
If a Tax Position Set is copied from a source system with more tax estimators than the target system, no new records will be created to account for the additional tax estimators present in the source system. Errors will appear at the top of the screen listing the tax estimators that cannot be found or updated.
Tax Position Set Information Not Copied
Association with a Cost Estimate or Compensation Calculation template - If the Tax Position Set is associated with a Cost Estimate or Compensation template in the source system, the user must manually designate the copied Tax Position Set on the template in the target system.
