Widget Options for Chart Widget Type

Many of the widget properties are automatically defaulted when the Create Widget button is used within Chart Options tab of a user report.

Chart Widget

"No Data Available" Message

This is the message that users will see in place of the widget when no data is found.

User Report

The selected user report determines the appearance of the chart.

Use Container

A box is created for the widget. By default, this is ticked.

Footer Visible

When ticked, the Footer User Report field appears

A footer can optionally be added to a report that allows users to view the full details of the selected user report. This appears as the View Details link on the bottom of the widget.

Cache Number of Hours Override

This is how many hours the data will be cached and will override any value entered on the Dashboard configuration page. Enter 0 (zero) for no caching.

Hide As of Date and Refresh Icon

This will hide the Date and Time and also the Refresh Icon from Widgets on the dashboard This is useful for widgets that are static and don't need to be refreshed by the User.

Things to Note

  • User report must have:

    • a numerical value (Count, Sum, Average, etc.)

    • an axis value (Phase, Country, Policy)

  • You can have a report for the Chart and another for the Details

  • The Chart Options tab in the user report controls the settings of the widget and the styling of the widget. This tab is not used to create other types of widgets.
