You can also create a new Assignment by copying data from an existing Assignment for the same employee.

You need to do the following to enable the

  • The System Preference for Allow Assignment Copy (ASGNMTCOPY) must be set to “Yes”. Note, this feature is controlled by a System Preference. Please contact your Equus Representative to configure

  • Users must also have “Add” rights for the Relocation page in order to see

To create a new Assignment via the copy method:

  • Select the Employees tab and search for the Employee whose Assignment you want to copy.

  • Browse to that Employees page.

  • Find the Assignment that you want to copy from the list of the Employee’s Assignments (pictured) and click the copy button.

  • At the prompt, confirm that you want to create a Copy of the Assignment.

  • If the Assignment System Number can be entered manually you will be prompted for the System number of the new Assignment. If the Assignment System Number is auto created you will not be prompted.

  • Once the copy is complete you will be shown the Assignment page for the newly created Assignment.

When creating a new assignment or authorization, if the employee has an existing assignment, the family data will copy from the existing assignment. These are the fields that are copied:

Below is the information the copy functionality copies.

  • Default Currency

  • Cost Currency

  • Phase

  • From Company Segment Level Information

  • From Segment Level Information

  • From Country

  • From State/Province

  • From City

  • From Currency

  • From Identifiers

  • From Title

  • From Salary Grade

  • Report Currency

  • VIP Status

  • Home Payroll System

Below is the information that is defaulted.

  • System Number (based upon system preference)

  • Employee ID

  • Assignment inactive status (Always Active)

The following additional records are included in the copy:

  • Assignment Employee Contact Information

    • Location Type

    • Contact Type

    • Number/Address

    • Start Date

    • End Date

    • Primary

NOTE: The record is only copied if the Location Type is Departure Office, Departure Residence, Mail Service, Mobile/Other, or Personal Email

  • Assignment Mailing Address Summary

    • Primary

    • Location Type

    • Address Line 1

    • Address Line 2

    • Address Line 3

    • Country

    • State/Province

    • City

    • Postal Code

    • Used For

    • Begin Date

    • End Date

NOTE: The record is only copied if the Location Type is Departure Office, Departure Residence, Mail Service, Mobile/Other, or Personal Email

  • Spouse/Domestic Partner

    • Last Name

    • First Name

    • Middle Name

    • Preferred Name

    • Former Name

    • Title

    • Suffix
