In order to use the Comp Processing Functionality, there are specific system configuration tasks that must be completed in advance:

Security

You need to make sure that the users using Comp Processing Tab has the right security rights. To access this tab, the Compensation Control Panel - Comp Processing screen under the Screen Rights section needs to tick the View, Add, Edit, Delete and Execute.

Compensation Processing

The compensation processing is controlled by a system preference pre-configured in the system. These settings will control how the feature will be used. For batch processing, you need to configure this setting to make sure the batch will be processed.

Note, please check with your Equus Representative first before starting any configuration on this feature

Change the company override for the Comp Processing Rule: Creation status for Comp Worksheets created as part of a batch

To do this, follow the below steps:

    1. Navigate to the Company System Preference under the Company Level

    2. Select the Compensation Worksheet Category

    3. Under the Compensation Processing section in Rules, set Compensation Processing Rules: Creation status for Comp Worksheets created as part of a batch = Ready for Processing

Note, this will allow you to move from creating the compensation worksheets and move to the batch transaction option.) Note: This system preference can also be set at the system level to apply to all companies.

Reporting can be generated on the Comp Processing Tab. There are 2 reporting set up you can configure for Compensation Processing. You can enable Payroll Reporting and Employee Reporting.

Payroll Reporting

Payroll Reports can be generated in batch under Compensation Processing. To do this:

    1. Navigate to the Payroll System

    2. Select the payroll system you wish to configure payroll reporting for

    3. Select the “Reporting” tab

    4. Select a “Control Panel Action”

      1. “Do Not Generate or Publish Reports” - The Payroll Report Batch will not be processed.

      2. “Generate Reports” - The Payroll Report Batch will be generated but reports will not be published to the payroll portal.

      3. “Generate and Publish Reports” - The Payroll Report Batch will be generated and reports will be published to the payroll portal.

      4. If shadow payroll should be included at the same time payroll reporting is run check the box next to “Include Shadow Payroll in Control Panel Reporting”.

Things to Note

  • Shadow Payroll should only be configured to run when using the Control Panel if using the automatically import to pay registers setting or if pay register information is import prior to processing payroll.

  • When you try to create the retrospective batch via the Comp Control Panel of a reported pay period, the calendar period won’t be visible so you need to update it manually or import to update first for the date to appear.

Employee Reporting

You can also enable employee reporting as needed. To do this, follow the below steps:

    1. From the Companies Tab / Payroll System

    2. Select the payroll system you wish to configure employee reporting for

    3. Select the “Employee Reporting” tab

    4. Select a “Control Panel Action”

      1. “Do Not Generate or Publish Reports” - The Employee Report Batch will not be processed.

      2. “Generate Reports” - The Employee Report Batch will be generated but reports will not be published to the portal and no emails will be sent.

      3. “Generate and Publish Reports” - The Employee Report Batch will be generated and reports will be published to the employee portal with emails sent depending on the selected Processing Rules.

    5. Select which type of Compensation Worksheets should be included

    6. Select the Processing Rules for each included type of Compensation Worksheet

      1. “The required From Email” field indicates the source of the From email address which will be used for all communications sent by the batch to the employee.

      2. The “Generate and Publish Report” field controls whether the batches chosen report, will be created for each of the worksheets included and then posted to the Employee Portal.

      3. The “Send Email To Employee” field determines if an email will be sent to the employee and if so should a report be attached.
