Do I need to obtain a mechanical licence in order to make records with elasticStage?

No.

If necessary, we obtain a mechanical licence on your behalf from the MCPS in the UK.

All you have to do is list the songwriters (and publishers if you know them) in the Track metadata. If the songwriters are registered with a society that has a reciprocal agreement with the MCPS/PRS, they will get paid. Over 100 societies have agreements with the MCPS/PRS. Examples of societies that can get paid are PRS, GEMA, ASCAP, BMI, SESAC, SACEM and many others.

According to our T&Cs, which you accepted, it is your responsibility to provide us with the correct information so we can pay the songwriters and publishers for any song you use on your recordings.

The recording rights owners (or licensees) receive royalties from us in the form of a revenue share. For our platform, this must be the Creator account owner.

If you use artwork on your records that isn't yours, you must have permission or pay the owner for a licence.

Yet, the songwriters will get paid through the mechanical licence elasticStage pays.
