My business is from the EU and has a VAT number. Why can't I use it?

elasticStage is based in the UK, which is outside the EU. Therefore your EU number is irrelevant.

Under the IOSS system, we can ship orders under £150. This allows us to pre-charge the local VAT rate for any small parcel sent to the EU. This means your parcel isn't held at customs and is delivered straight to you.

Larger orders, such as "Creator copies", must be shipped from us without VAT to countries outside the UK. However, the destination country's customs will probably charge you VAT on arrival.

In both cases, you can reclaim the VAT as a VAT-registered business.
