Step 18 of 18: Configure Machine Room Basic Settings and Switch from MR to MRL

A2.18: Machine Room Settings

Written by Alexandra Göttert

Prerequisites

  • The hydraulic practice project LDTrainingSampleA2_06.ld3 exists and its rail bracket fixing profiles are configured.

Steps

Machine room basic settings

1.) Select the machine room. Select it via the Breadcrumb window or in Design Mode directly on the drawing — the machine room is a child object of the shaft.

2.) Set the machine room dimensions. Set them individually in the Properties window under [0250] Dimensions.

3.) Position the machine room in height. Use the z-direction, for example Z0 [mm].

4.) Position the machine room in x and y. Use X0 [mm] / Y0 [mm] — the machine room can also be placed separately from the shaft.

Switch from MR to MRL

5.) Switch to machine-room-less mode. Machine-room-less hydraulic elevators can be created manually via the machine room's Machine room-less mode property.

6.) Adjust the machine room components in the shaft pit. They're placed in the shaft pit automatically and can be deleted or moved via the corresponding dimensions and component properties.

Tip: All wall-related components can be moved quickly to the correct position by holding down the left mouse button.

7.) Re-add the machine room if required. The machine room remains a child object of the shaft even in MRL mode and can be added again.

Result

You can select, size, and position the machine room, switch a hydraulic elevator to machine-room-less mode, rearrange the components placed in the pit, and re-add the machine room if needed.

Tutorial complete

This was the final step of the A2 Elevator Design Fundamentals tutorial. You've worked with Main Project Data and component states, exchanged components and used product options and component rules, and applied them in practical examples: rail bracket fixings and concrete beams, shaft door anchor rails, entrance pockets and sill options, car balustrades and scaffoldings, hall buttons, displays and wall finish, counterweight relocation and pulley beams, L-shaped car frames, rope wall fixings, MRL machine bases, hydraulic rail bracket profiles, and machine room settings including MR-to-MRL.
