What external blocks can do, loading them, and tracing a value's path back from inside one.
Prerequisites
You can build annotations with calculated External$ values.

Steps
Reference External$'s in DWG files and load external blocks
1.) Understand what external blocks (DWG/DXF) can do. They can be displayed as static content in DigiPara Liftdesigner drawings, can contain DigiPara Liftdesigner project references, and can be used in DWG annotations and standard view frames.
2.) Replace a component/view frame annotation with a DWG block. DWG annotations related to active components are created via the corresponding annotation property, replacing an existing component or view frame annotation.
3.) Load an independent DWG annotation. Use this to replace an existing view frame with a DWG-based one.
Use Go to External
4.) Find a value's Data tree path without opening AutoCAD. Hover over the value in a DWG table, right-click, and choose Go to External — for example, to trace a value inside titl_rop_int_DST.dwg directly from DigiPara Liftdesigner.
5.) Find every External reference in the table. All External contents referenced in that table can be found this way.
Result
You understand what external DWG/DXF blocks can do, can load one either as a component/view-frame annotation replacement or as an independent block, and can trace any External$ reference used inside a DWG table back to its Data tree path without opening AutoCAD.
