Step 10 of 17: Save Sheet Templates and Clone/Copy Sheets

A3.10: Save and reproduce Standard Sheet Templates

Written by Alexandra Göttert

This completes the Sheets & Sheet Templates section.

Prerequisites

  • The sheet has view frames, a drawing border, and a title block.

Steps

1.) Save a sheet template (*.lds). Save it into the data pool directory under sheets — the saved sheet template can then be selected at the end of the Shaft Wizard. Sheet templates are saved with all their individual settings and can be used for any further projects.

2.) Clone a sheet within the same project. Use the right-click options in the bottom bar — cloning copies all existing content and settings within one project.

3.) Copy a sheet into another project. Also via the right-click options in the bottom bar, this time targeting another open project.

Result

The sheet template is saved for reuse in any future project (including via the Shaft Wizard), and you can clone a sheet within a project or copy it into a different one.
