Step 8 of 17: Create, Rename, and Remove Sheets

A3.8: Create own Standard Sheet Templates

Written by Alexandra Göttert

This begins the Sheets & Sheet Templates section.

Prerequisites

  • You can use vertical splits and symbolic vertical sections.

Steps

1.) Understand the one-model, many-layouts principle. One elevator equals one data model, but you can have an unlimited number of layouts (sheets) built from it.

2.) Add a new sheet — Option 1. Add it via the Sheet tab's Sheet group. A new sheet always contains a plan view by default.

3.) Add a new sheet — Option 2. Add it from the sheet-sorting section at the bottom, via the right-click Add Sheet option.

4.) Remove a sheet. Remove one sheet, or remove all sheets, via the removal options.

5.) Rename a sheet. Rename it via the Sheet Properties, displayed via the Sheet tab.

Tip: in the drawing area, the sheet properties can also be opened via the right mouse button.

Result

You can create a sheet two ways, remove one or all sheets, and rename a sheet via its Properties.
