Step 4 of 9: Import a Manufacturer Module

A4.4: Manually import the Manufacturer Module (.ldm12) into the Data pool

Written by Alexandra Göttert

Note: the process below is the manual way to import a manufacturer module — placing the .ldm12 file into the data pool's Import folder yourself. The alternative is publishing your module through Upload a Manufacturer Module to DigiPara Liftdesigner Cloud, where customers then retrieve it themselves via their Poolmanager's Check for updates.

Prerequisites

  • You received, for example, a new manufacturer module from DigiPara and didn't have to create one yourself.

Steps

1.) Find your data pool's Import folder. Using Windows Explorer, locate your data pool's Import folder — the usual local path is C:\ProgramData\DigiPara\dcc\DataPool\data\Import.

2.) Close DigiPara Liftdesigner applications, then paste the .ldm12 file. Close all DigiPara Liftdesigner applications first, then paste the .ldm12 file with the BIM components you want to import into the Import folder. When you start Liftdesigner or the Datamanager again, the module is unpacked and imported into the database automatically.

Result

The manufacturer module is imported into your data pool, unpacked automatically the next time Liftdesigner or the Datamanager starts.
