Step 14 of 14: Copy and Position Completed Child Object Groups

EL1.14: Steel Shaft Practical Example

Written by Alexandra Göttert

Prerequisites

  • The child object group's subordinated user components exist.

Steps

1.) Align the complete child object group. Align the finished group in the Z-direction, using equations.

2.) Copy, rename, and position complete child object groups. Copied subordinate object groups are completely independent of each other, so each copy can be positioned separately.

3.) Check the automatically generated component dimensions. Related extended component dimensions are generated automatically for every additional object, and can be made permanently visible on the drawing.

Result

Complete, independent child object groups (e.g. a ring construction) are built, aligned, copied, and positioned, with their dimensions available for the drawing.

Tutorial complete

This was the final step of the EL1 Material Configuration & Steel Construction tutorial. You've configured shaft, machine room, pit, ceiling, and floor level materials and your own custom materials/hatchings; created additional child objects, wall openings, and wall segments; and built a complete steel shaft ring construction from a full practical example — an empty parent zero-point component, its subordinated user components, and complete, independently positioned child object groups.
