Step 8 of 8: Export and Share Your Translation Modules

B4.8: Share you new Messages and Translations

Written by Alexandra Göttert

Prerequisites

  • Your messages and translations are finished.

Steps

1.) Export your manufacturer modules. Use Export Manufacturer Modules… to export the modules containing your messages and translations. The exported .ldm12 files can be imported into any other data pool.

2.) Locate the exported file. The exported .ldm12 file is located under the Export folder in the current data pool — the usual local path is C:\ProgramData\DigiPara\dcc\DataPool\data\Export.

3.) Distribute messages and translations together with the modules that reference them. When a message or translation is referenced from an external .dwg file or a DigiPara Liftdesigner sheet, always distribute the message/translation module together with the module containing that sheet or DWG — otherwise, the referenced messages won't show up in the drawings for whoever receives them.

Result

Your message and translation modules are exported as shareable .ldm12 files, distributed together with whatever sheets or DWG files reference them.

Tutorial complete

This was the final step of the B4 Drawing Messages and Translations tutorial. You've learned what a MessageNo and a Message are, set drawing and interface languages, referenced messages instead of fixed text (including secondary-language text), created dedicated modules, registered and translated a new message directly and via Excel, and exported and shared the result.
