Step 12 of 16: Create and Save a Rule-Based Vertical Section for the Head (CWT_L)

B2.12: Create and Save New View Frames for the DST

Written by Alexandra Göttert

Same pattern as the pit detail in the previous step, applied to the head detail.

Prerequisites

  • The pit vertical section for CWT_L is finished and saved.

Steps

1.) Create a new vertical section for the head. On the CWT_L project, create a new vertical section, change its description to "Vertical Section Head CWT_L", and set its view frame type, component visibility, and dimensions.

2.) Modify the new vertical section. Delete the car and the car/counterweight ghost, and add extended dimensions for the CWT guide rails and bracket.

3.) Define rules for the vertical detail section. Create a new rule-based detail section covering both the Y-max/min and Z-max/min directions.

  • For the Y-direction, the reference point is the shaft base point — for example LD("Shaft0.W_1").

  • For the Z-direction, the reference point is the last floor; simple mathematical calculations can be used here.

4.) Save your own vertical section. Save the new vertical section inside the MyDST-Viewframe folder, as VerticalSectionHead_CWT_L.

Result

A rule-based vertical section for the head detail exists for the CWT-left project, matching the pit detail's approach but referencing the last floor instead of the first.
